Garfield Re-2 School District Superintendent David Smucker
RIFLE – The Garfield Re-2 School District Board of Directors named David Smucker as Superintendent at their regular board meeting Tuesday, July 15. Smucker takes over for Dr. Gary Pack who left last month for a job with the Princeton School District in Cincinatti, OH.Smucker has been with the Garfield Re-2 School District since 2002. He was hired as the Principal at Rifle High School for the 2002-2003 school year. He was named Assistant Superintendent in 2006.
At the same board meeting, The Garfield Re-2 Board named Rifle Middle School Principal Susan Birdsey as Assistant Superintendent. Birdsey has been with Garfield Re-2 since 2005. She has been the Principal of Rifle Middle School for the past three years.
