Garfield Re-2 Staff Benefits
In addition to competitive salaries, Garfield School District No. Re-2 provides a full array of benefits for full-time employees:
• Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
The district will give each benefitted employee a monthly stipend that will be applied towards a single or a portion of a family health insurance plan. Vision and dental plans are available and may be added at an additional cost.
• Life Insurance
A $30,000 policy is provided to the employee at no cost
• Worker’s Compensation
Employees are covered at no cost
• Retirement Program
A monthly contribution to the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) is made to the employee’s account by both the employee and the
district.
• Time Off
The employee benefit package includes paid sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, bereavement leave and personal leave. An optional sick leave bank is also available for use during times of unforeseen illness or injury. Extended leaves may include sabbatical leave, professional growth leave, military leave and unpaid family leave.
• Salary Schedule Credit
Credit may be applied to movement on the salary schedule for various
graduate level courses or other professional development according to district guidelines and specifications.
• Supplementary Pay
Employees who perform additional work outside of regular school hours (i.e. coaching, sponsoring extracurricular activities) receive an extra stipend in accordance with the district’s supplementary salary schedule.
• Other Options
Additional insurance options including but not limited to short-term disability, long-term disability and cancer coverage, are available through supplemental insurance programs provided by AFLAC.
The district allows for individual enrollment in employee-paid programs such as pre-tax medical, child care expense reimbursement, additional insurance plans, tax-sheltered annuity contributions, and participation in Burning Mountain Credit Union, as well as direct deposits to any Colorado bank.
